I am Sydney Schroeder, and I graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2021 with a degree in Architectural Engineering. My concentration was in lighting and electrical systems.

I have experience in the Leadership Program at Acuity Brands, where I completed rotations on several different teams within Acuity Brands Lighting. I was a member of the optics team, the lighting applications team, and most recently worked in product management within the specialty lighting group. These combined experiences have enabled me to develop a diverse knowledge of lighting products, a familiarity with product ratings and specification requirements, the ability to analyze product applications, and the skills required to evaluate market potential in the lighting industry.

As a member of the lighting applications team at Acuity Brands, I completed interior and exterior lighting designs for architectural, commercial, and industrial spaces. Designs I completed included but were not limited to parking lots, pedestrian paths, classrooms, offices, factories, and auditoriums. I also participated in the lighting design for an Acuity Brands corporate office, from the conceptual design through the ordering and installation process.

Outside of lighting, I was a residential advisor in a global residential program which equipped me with the ability to communicate across cultures and build community among students. I have worked in several different service positions which has taught me the importance of respect and positive culture within a work place.
